Welcome to the Ladybirds Playgroup and Pre-school website

Corscombe is a lovely rural village setting between Dorchester and Crewkerne near the Dorset / Somerset border. The playgroup is a short drive from Beaminster, Crewkerne and the surrounding areas.

Last year Ladybirds Playgroup celebrated forty years of providing play and learning experiences for children and despite the significant demographic changes in the village it is still in operation today running from the former village school, now Corscombe Village Hall.

Lindsay and the playgroup management committee are dedicated to providing a high standard of child care with a strong emphasis on being outdoors and making the most of our rural setting.

This community playgroup is helped by the determination and hard work of a core of individuals and the generous support of the local community both in our fund raising and in the form of financial support from The George Hawkins Trust, the PCC and the Corscombe and Halstock Parish Council.

We are also lucky enough to have a fantastic band of volunteers who come into our sessions and work alongside the children.

We spend much of our time having fun in the surrounding woods, visiting farms and local countryside and encouraging the children to learn to appreciate our beautiful surroundings as they grow towards their Early Learning Goals as part of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Ladybirds Playgroup and Toddlers

Ladybirds Parent and Toddler runs on an informal drop-in basis between
10 and 12 on Monday mornings.

This well-supported parent and toddler group provides an opportunity for babies and young children to socialize and play and also enables parents, grandparents and carers
to meet and share experiences and provide mutual support which can be invaluable.
